PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana – Impact

The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is an initiative rolled out by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship via the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Through PMKVY, the Government aims to upskill and train over 10 million persons by 2020.

The Government via the PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana is also keen on imparting skill india training in fast-developing sectors like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Drone technology. Here are some of the modern tech sectors that PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana is impacting.

  • Integration of Iot with agriculture

India is an agricultural nation with almost 70% of the Indian population depending on agricultural produce and its services. Moreover, over 75% of the Indian population resides in rural areas, making the nation’s economy agro-based.

  • Development of a world-class drone ecosystem

For several years, the Ministry of Civil Aviation envisioned a reliable and safe Drone ecosystem in India. Drones can be excellent technological allies to farmers, helping them quickly survey large fields, track livestock and check the condition of the crop. Moreover, drones can be used for evaluating soil and weather conditions, surveying crops. They can also be used to assess irrigation systems and crop health.

  • Establishment of a geoinformatics centre

Geoinformatics, with the help of proper scientific infrastructure has many applications like better urban planning, land-use management, environmental modelling, and in-car navigation systems .The National Centre of Geoinformatics has developed a unique Geoinformatics Information System that will act as a database of location-based analytics for the Central and State governments and other departments across the country.

PMKVY will play a key role in promoting the above-mentioned tech sectors, under PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
